How are you and your parish preparing for to mark the upcoming Synod on the New Evangelization in Rome and to celebrate the Year of Faith, which runs from October 11, 2012 to November 24, 2013? Here are some exciting possibilities:
1) Give a copy of the book to someone else. To start the conversation, we are offering $2 off the retail price for each copy of Forming Intentional Disciples that you purchase to give to someone else or for a book or study group. If you appreciate the work of CSI, please buy the book from us. You'll be making a small donation to us as well as getting the fruit of eight year's work in parish-based evangelization by a whole network of pastoral evangelizers and collaborators who are really making it happen on the ground. Give copies of Forming Intentional Disciples to your friends, family, bishop, pastor, parish staff, RCIA team, or fellow parishioners.
2) Consider organizing a “Year of Faith” or “New Evangelization” reading and discussion group in your parish. Start the conversation by reading Forming Intentional Disciples.
3) Bring me and our other fabulous Making Disciples teachers out to speak to your parish or diocese during the Year of Faith about what we have learned about making disciples at the parish level. 4) The power, love, provision of God that flows through the charisms is absolutely essential to the mission of evangelization. Sponsor a live C & G in your parish to celebrate the Year of Faith or using our small group process to enable you and a group of friends or parishioners to begin your discernment. Discerning and exercising our charisms is a great way to play your part in the New Evangelization.
