Faith At Work: One day.  9:00 – 4:00pm

Barbara J. Elliott offers a new seminar to spark the imagination of people seeking to live their faith with authenticity.   While many people see their faith life and their life at work as two separate compartments that have nothing to do with each other, she examines the teaching of the Church and finds that we are called to live in a unity of spirit: life as one fabric, with our soul rightly related to God and man, and our actions infused by faith. Work was not punishment from God, but rather an invitation to participate in his Creation by ordering our part of the garden with him.

This workshop offers the fruit of many interviews with men and women in a wide array of professions throughout the country who have committed their time and their talent to the service of God and others.  The examples of what ordinary people are doing with extraordinary effect gives striking evidence of God at work around us.  These stories show a dimension of work as a co-creative act through which we can honor God.  Honest work done with excellence can sanctify us, while sanctifying others we touch through it.

For parishes which have already completed the “Called and Gifted” workshop on discerning spiritual gifts, this one-day “Faith at Work” seminar is an excellent follow-up to present real-life applications of charisms.  Based on true stories of people living theircharisms now, it provides a wide array of real possibilities to inspire people to take their gifts into the world around them — at work, at home, and in the community.

For parishes which have not yet embarked on discernment of charisms, this seminar can begin with  “An Introduction to Spiritual Gifts” on Friday evening from 7 to 9 and continue with “Faith at Work” on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.    To schedule, email:   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
