As a Spiritual Gifts interviewer, Mary Sharon brings unexpected clarity, vocational focus, and encouragement to lay Catholic men and women in their charism discernment. Deborah Amato (picture coming) is Director of Lay Ecclesial Ministry for the Diocese of Lansing.  She received a Master’s degree in Pastoral Studies from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit.  Her primary focus is providing formation to lay ministers, overseeing certification of lay ministers and coordinating a diocesan-wide Women’s Conference.  Prior to her work at the diocesan level she worked at a parish coordinating the RCIA and Adult Faith Formation programs as well as teaching religion in the middle school.  She is married to Mark, has four grown children and nine grandchildren.
